Tomorrow Jobs is recruiting for its client, an international technology company developing secure, cloud-native platforms for complex financial operations, a:

Senior Software Engineer F/M – REMOTE – FREELANCE

Contract: 6-month freelance mission, renewable

Location: Luxembourg or remote from within Europe

You will join an international engineering organization working across Europe, within a team of experienced software engineers and technical experts. The company develops solutions used by major financial institutions, operating in a highly demanding environment where security, confidentiality, resilience and operational stability are critical.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and evolution of critical components of the platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing robust, scalable and maintainable software components.
• Implementing complex business logic and distributed workflows.
• Contributing to software architecture and technical design decisions.
• Developing services within a modern cloud-native and containerized environment.
• Working with APIs, messaging systems and distributed architectures.
• Integrating the platform with external systems and technical partners.
• Contributing to security reviews, threat modelling and architectural assessments.
• Ensuring high standards of security, reliability, resilience and confidentiality.
• Collaborating with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Participating in continuous improvement of development and engineering practices.
• Taking part in an on-call rotation to support production environments.

Technical environment: Kotlin, Java / JVM, Scala, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Gradle, distributed systems, message-driven architectures, APIs, relational databases and security / PKI. Experience with Canton / Daml or similar distributed ledger technologies would be a strong advantage.

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala or another JVM-based technology.
• Proven experience contributing to the development and production deployment of large-scale, business-critical software systems.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including databases, concurrency, networking and security.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in an international, distributed and constantly evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have: experience with functional or strongly typed programming, distributed ledger / transaction technologies, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, relational databases or PKI.

Mission: 6 months, renewable
